About Sunny's Red Hook

Red Hook waterfront saloon in continuous operation since 1890, originally John's Bar and Restaurant serving longshoremen. Famous for bluegrass jams Friday and Saturday nights, plus folk and jazz throughout the week. Run by Tone Balzano Johansen, widow of the late Sunny Balzano, who saved the bar after Hurricane Sandy.
