Thursday Night Two-Stepping in Austin

Thursday is the unofficial start of the Austin honky-tonk weekend. Crowds pick up, bookings get interesting, and the dance floors warm up for Friday and Saturday.

Broken Spoke

Thursdays at Broken Spoke feature Chaparral with Jeff Hughes - a weekly tradition with one of Austin's tightest country bands. Dancehall opens at 8pm, band at 9pm.

Sam's Town Point

Seth James at 8:30pm, then Jimmie Dreams & Friends at 10pm. Sam's Town Point is where dancers in-the-know spend Thursday nights.

Sagebrush

Live music at 8pm, often a mix of visiting acts and local regulars like Robert Ellis or Matt Tedder.

White Horse

Three bands starting at 8pm (Georgia Parker, Sentimental Family Band, The Mellows are regulars). $10 cover.

Highball

Native Texan Two-Step runs Thursday lessons at Highball at 7pm.
